"Ten
Tang Poems," 2000-2001
In this work, "Ten Tang Poems," calligraphy of ten
poems from the Tang Dynasty have been written inversely, left
to right and bottom to top. Every stroke order was also written
inversely. Playing this video backward, the poems are erased
as they are written, turning calligraphy into anti-calligraphy.
The calligraphy on paper is installed on the wall, which creates
a paradoxical relationship with the video.
