The City of Defeat 900 x 900 x 550cm
The concept for this installation comes from the Square City of Xiaoling Tomb of the Ming
Dynasty in Nanjing. The enclosing walls and the ground are all made of stone slabs; while the
space above each tortoise-shaped pedestal is an open doorsome of the slabs on the floor are
carved with rippling reliefs, which are arranged in the format of ducks and drakes, thus implying
the movement of a stone. |
