vagabond now visible, now hidden; now appearing, now disappearing
Those photos of 18 famous sculptures were selected from Berlin, such as sculptures of FriedrichⅡ,Max and Wilhelm von Humboldt The silhouettes of their shadows which were taken under the sun have been made by heavy black velvet. They are hanging on the whole glass wall that faced towards west in the exhibition hall of the world culture centre.
When there’s sun, beginning from the afternoon, those silhouettes project shadows that would vary by the height of the sun.
The time that sculptures were filmed affected the length of the images. The time that the visitors arrive also influences the shape of the shadow which they see on the ground. Both are uncertain factors, the sculptures and its shadows all become the sundial.
In the middle part of the glass wall, the pouring of cement that faced directly to the exhibition entrance inclined supports the whole architectural structure of the W.C.C. On the top of it, there’s a LCD plate just like the inscription on the base of the sculptures that turn this pouring part into an invisible pedestal. The LCD plate was made of stainless steel. The continuous decreasing number displays countdown of 5000 D.C.
