The inspiration for the work “Night Tour” comes from the lives of Chinese scholars in gardens, featuring the moon, a maze, blessings, pine and cypress trees, a starry sky, howling in a bamboo forest, and carrying light in night strolls, as well as footprints searching for a way out and paper airplanes flying out of plight. The moon in the artwork is worth mentioning. The artist threw marbles into the wet plaster, and when it went dry, he took them out. This resembles the formation of meteor craters in the moon. The ice patterns in the work are made from rubbings of shattered glass, while the lightning is created by burning patterns, which is made with high voltage from a battery before rubbing. This pattern is also highly similar to the neural signals transmitted in the human brain. The work is rich in detail, harmonious and magnificent.
