In 2002, Qiu Zhijie wore a pair of special shoes during months of traveling on the road as one of the curators of Long March - A Walking Visual Display. Beneath the left shoe was a stamp depicting the word "right," and beneath the right shoe was the word "left." In this manner he left imprints of "left" and "right" during his journey. Most of the time the imprints remained invisible, and they existed unconsciously. These imprints were only visible on raining days or as he walked across mud. Here are documentations of shoe prints from Lugu Lake in Yunnan , "Flying Tigers" airport in Lijiang, the site of Zunyi Meeting, and Luding Bridge in Sichuan . |
