2005年高千惠在台北当代艺术馆策划一个展览“偷天换日”,其构思是针对美术馆制度,希望暴露当代艺术的运作体制中的陈习。我邀请了两岸三地各种朋友,从学生到文化圈名人,由他们向美术馆出具推荐信和担保书,担保我的艺术水品和操守足于胜任参展。最后我所展出的就是这些文本。整套文件显示出一种艺术生态整体“关系”的纹路。像是一条条相互交叉的食物链。“面子”和“信用”是这件作品的材料,而美术馆因此成了当铺。

Pawnshop, 2005, Happening

Kao Chien-Hui curated an exhibition titled “Trading Place: Contemporary Art Museum” at the Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei in 2005. The idea of the exhibition is to criticize the museum system, exposing in contemporary art system’s operating mechanism. I invited friends from mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong ranging from students to celebrities in the cultural circle to provide letters of recommendation and signed affidavits,guaranteeing that with the level of my artistic endeavor and ethics I am qualified to participate in this exhibition. The final installation of the show consists of these documents. The whole set of the documents indicate the pattern of “Guanxi (relationship)” within the art ecosystem, forming cross-cutting food chains. “Mianzi (the idea of saving face) and “Credit” are the mediums of this piece, and the art museum becomes a pawn shop.
